Nightmare In Vienna

We’ve all met them: Resolute pains in the ass who can’t help blurting out whatever’s on their mind- without first consulting the Unwritten Rules Of Polite Society- And we all know what they are- Don’t we? (If you don’t by now, then you never will.) The good Dr. Semmelweiss who in 1846 was appointed assistant professor in the First Obstetrical Ward in Vienna General Hospital, committed not just one; not two; but three of the Great Cardinal Sins:
Clearly identifying a serious problem.
Putting forward a workable solution to said problem.
Implementing said solution.
To the ignorant this all sounds wonderful; After all, what doctor doesn’t want to make ground-breaking discoveries in healthcare with all the glory that ensues? But let’s get our priorities straight. When the marvellous professor was about to effectively set off a bomb under his profession with a new discovery, did he stop to think about how this would make his colleagues feel?
Evidently not.
What problem did Dr. Ignaz Semmelweiss solve?
The professor noticed a connection between doctors’ lack of hand-washing- after autopsy procedures- and the deaths of birthing mothers to which they later attended. Once aware of this, Semmelweiss immediately instigated a hand-washing protocol using a solution of chlorinated lime. Did he ask anyone’s permission or consult his colleagues? Not a bit. Once implemented, death rates which had been at around 10% prior to his intervention- dropped down to below 3%; And while this aligned perfectly with a hospital’s stated purpose (which is: saving lives and eliminating suffering), Ignaz’s complete lack of regard for his colleagues was breathtaking.

How The Pest From Pest Came To Rest
Things had been working just fine for decades in Vienna General Hospital before the doctor from Pest came along- Yes indeed, many patients were dying, but just like Madeleine Albright once put it in 1993 when speaking about children dying in the Iraq War: “We think the price [of killing chidren] is worth it.” When the world found out about Semmelweiss’ great “solution”, something obviously had to be done about him- Therefore the Pest was thrown in the insane asylum, and later received a beating by staff members, from which he (quite ironically) died of an infection.

The Need For Strong Medicine
People like Dr. Semmelweiss still exist today, despite all efforts down through the years to contain or eliminate them. During the Great MRNA Trial of 2021, a small but significant number of health professionals railed against The Science™. Clearly something has to be done about these people. Some have called for them to be publicly shot or hanged. Others say they should be sent to an island in the South Seas and left to rot. But such measures might only draw attention and sympathy. The public may well be stupid, lazy and cowardly, but their tendency to react emotionally makes them a dangerous variable. So, rather than making a fuss, dissenters can be run through lengthy court procedures that sound really boring, complicated and forgettable. In this way we can quietly exclude them from society- just like we did with Drs. De Brun, Morrissey, Waters and Ralph.
Polite Society may hate new solutions, but it certainly loves the old ones-
And we know what they are.
Tales From The Lockdown reveals the true inner thoughts of Hard Right Fascists. Read carefully... If you can stomach it.
Tales From The Lockdown is a true personal account (heavily laced with satire) during a period of time where ordinary civilised people abandoned the familiar trappings of normality, logic and scientific rigour.
We begin our story in the South of Ireland in late 2019 when unusual events begin to unfold- Starting first as a trickle of activity, then a flow, and then a raging torrent. The book details the escapades of the author Séamus O’Laoi who tries to make sense of what’s happening; It details his modest but nonetheless important personal challenges to the authority of the Irish state during the interestingly exact 2 year period: March 2020 to March 2022.
This book is a record of what happened in Ireland during the period that Séamus mockingly refers to as the “The Dreadful Disease” when erstwhile invisible forces emerged and revealed themselves to the world, perhaps assuming that no-one would pay too much notice.
It is hoped that books such as this one can help provide the reader with an enhanced understanding of what happened to the world in March 2020.

This "saving lives" thing is just a fad. Eventually, people will come to their senses and realise that killing as many people as possible is good for the environment. Then they can join the Green Party.
Goodness knows, these problem solvers keep us on our toes!
